When you look in the mirror, the first thing you notice on your face are wrinkles on the skin. What often goes under the radar is volume loss in the cheeks. Over time, skin tends to lose volume and elasticity, which contributes to a hollow, gaunt look. Voluma may be the answer you have been searching for to restore your natural beauty and confidence by breathing life back into your cheeks. Juvéderm Voluma XC is the leading injectable dermal filler that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to correct lost volume in the mid-face. Voluma has been specifically designed to breathe life back into your cheeks. Darian Thorp is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience using injectables to deliver amazing results for patients at Renovation, the MedSpa of board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Charles P. Virden in Reno, Nevada. With Voluma injections, you can turn back the clock on facial aging as volume is added that bonds with the skin and creates a fuller, perkier appearance.
Renovation, Dr. Virden's Medical Spa participates in the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions® program to help Reno patients get exclusive savings on treatments and earn rewards when they have an Allergan treatment, including Juvéderm Voluma XC. What to Expect@headingTag>
The Voluma formula contains lidocaine ( a mild local anesthetic) to minimize discomfort during treatments, so typically no additional anesthesia is needed. The Voluma will be skillfully injected into the mid-face to correct volume loss in about 10 minutes. Patients are able to leave the office and resume their normal activities immediately after their treatment, however they may notice mild swelling, redness, and tenderness for up to 2 days. Some results will be visible right away, but the filler will take about 7 days to settle into its final position. The results of Voluma typically last up to 2 years and can be maintained with touch-up injections.
Side effects with Voluma are rare, but possible so patients should contact our office if they have any concerns after their treatment. To avoid pushing the filler into unwanted areas of the face, patients should be careful not to touch the treated areas of their face for at least 24 hours after their treatment. The active ingredient in Voluma is a synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) that mimics the natural HA in the body that keeps the cells hydrated and elastic. The HA in Voluma is slowly and safely absorbed back into the body over time.
