About Permanent Makeup@headingTag>
Some people never leave the house without "their face on," but how much time is spent every day creating the perfect face, re-applying after activities or normal fading, and taking off makeup every night. Permanent makeup is ideal for those who want the freedom to look their best any time of day or for those who have difficulty applying cosmetics. For anyone in the Reno, Nevada area who is active, doesn't have enough time, wants to save money, has trouble applying cosmetics, or has allergies to makeup products, permanent makeup is worth considering. At Renovation Medical Spa, permanent makeup is used to create long-lasting eyeliner, lip liner, full lip color, or eyebrows. Patients who have had breast reconstruction by board-certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Charles Virden or another surgeon can get nipple and areola tattoos that are skillfully created to look realistic.
Permanent makeup can be a great solution for anyone who wants to save time and frustration by skipping some or all of their morning makeup routine and patients who have a medical condition that makes it difficult to hold or apply cosmetics. Permanent makeup can also help patients restore their appearance after breast reconstruction surgery. At Renovation, Dr. Virden's Medical Spa, we offer:
- Full coverage lips
- Lip liner
- Nipple and areola after breast reconstruction
- Scar coverage
What to Expect@headingTag>
Permanent makeup is applied in the same way and with the same equipment as regular tattoos, so there is very little pain or discomfort during the process. After the patient has discussed at length what they want and agreed on a color palette, the artist will schedule an appointment to perform the permanent makeup. A numbing cream or local anesthesia may be used to help the patient feel more comfortable and relaxed. The length of the session will depend on what makeup the patient is getting.
Most patients need about 1 – 2 days to recover after the permanent makeup is applied to allow swelling and redness to decrease. To prevent fading, patients are advised to use sun protection at all times. However, even with sun protection, tattoo pigments begin to fade over time. Patients may want a touch-up to revive their same look or use the opportunity to update their image.
